Who can rent, what to bring, how long approval takes
Uber car rental requirements

What each requirement means
- 25 or older. You must be at least 25 years old to rent.
- A valid driver’s license. We check your license as part of the application, and there is a one-time $100 license verification fee at pickup.
- Live in Miami-Dade, Broward or Palm Beach County. At this time, you must reside in one of these three counties to qualify. The car also stays in this area unless we say OK first.
- Meet the rideshare background requirements. We check your background. Uber and Lyft also run their own checks before you can drive on their apps.
- Proof of income or a way to pay weekly. Rent is due every week after the first, so we need to see that you can keep up with payments.
How long does approval take?
The application takes about 5 minutes. During business hours most applications are approved within minutes, and every application is answered within 24 hours. Once you’re approved, we call you to set up pickup at 800 E Broward Blvd in Fort Lauderdale. Cars change every day, so call or text before you come in.
Lyft car rental requirements: same list
Our requirements are the same for Uber, Lyft and delivery drivers. You don’t need a separate rental for each app: you can drive on all of them at the same time. Keep in mind that each platform sets its own driver and vehicle rules, so you still need to be approved by Lyft or Uber to take rides on their apps. Check their current requirements.
How our requirements compare

Do I need good credit?
No. There is no traditional credit check. We look at your license and background instead.
What if Uber or Lyft denied me before?
You must meet the rideshare platform’s requirements to drive for it. If you don’t, you may still qualify to rent from us for delivery apps such as DoorDash, Uber Eats, Instacart and Amazon Flex.
What if I live outside the tri-county area?
At this time, you must live in Miami-Dade, Broward or Palm Beach County to qualify.
Is insurance included?
Yes. Commercial insurance, maintenance and repairs for normal wear and tear, and roadside assistance are included in the weekly price. Driver-caused damage may be your responsibility.
Is there a contract?
No long-term contract. Rentals are week to week. See the full cost breakdown for what you pay at pickup.
